repeating elements

Some things really are worth repeating.

There were so many ways one could interpret the challenge this week, and yet I kept coming back to the most literal sense of the prompt. I love circles and use them all the time as elements in my art journaling. I have been wanting to offer a time saving interpretation of a challenge for weeks now and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Circles. Lot of them.

Art Challenge:  Repeating Elements
Journal Prompt:  It's Worth Repeating

Typically if I find myself repeating something over and over it is a clear sign I either like it or feel most comfortable doing it. I think, for me, there are definitely days where keeping things simple means actually creating that day. Most of us don't wake up every single day ready to create a masterpiece. Using repeating elements is a way to get something down in our art journal, an exercise in just picking up our art tools and creating. I am often influenced by the simplest of tasks and try to look at these straighforward  lessons as fodder for my art soul. In taking a step back and un-complicating things once in awhile we just might be rewarded with unexpected inspiration.

When it comes to creating these challenges week after week, we are certain to hit artistic speed bumps. Letting go with something as elementary as repetition is refreshing. I love the basic look and feel of this journal page. This was a great way to see my favorite element reiterated on the same page using different mediums. Have fun with this one!
